Kevin Butler

Breeders and winners of the IGL Retriever Champion 2022.

Kevin has carried on his father’s tradition of having a well trained dog about him. After competing and winning in the 90’s in Lurcher tests and trials with his collies cross Lurchers, Kevin then turned his attention to the Gundog world after his father asked him if he could win the Retriever Championship. Kevin has not only bred his own black and yellow line of Labrador, but has gone on to produce winners and champions not only for himself but for other handlers. We pride our kennels in not only producing the very best trialling dogs but also dogs capable of absorbing the pressure of a shoot day on the peg. Kevin’s Cocker Spaniels have also been viewed at peoples amazement working the line on training days and shooting at field trials.

Training Your Dog

Turpingreen has access to thousands of acres of training ground with the North Cumbrian facility dedicated to the training of dogs to the highest level possible.
Kevin has honed his training programmes through decades of training different breeds, tailoring bespoke methods to suit each individual dogs temperament.
Ultimately dogs benefit from the technical courses designed and advice given, which in turn enables the dogs to become conditioned to deal with the pressure of competing at the very top level and become 1st class peg dogs.

Evie is one of the first bitches in the uk to be entered into DNA testing many years ago.
Other owners have benefited from our progression in health testing Labradors.

Here at Turpingreen we pride ourselves on producing dogs of sound temperament, conformation, health and second to non working ability.
We pride our kennels in not only producing top quality trialling dogs but also dogs capable of absorbing the pressure of a shoot day on the peg.
Both Labrador and Cocker Spaniel pups/ part trained dogs are available annually.
